DALLAS POLICE CYCLING TEAM'S RESPONSE TO COVID.
We are aware of the ongoing concerns surrounding COVID and are thrilled to see so many people signing up to ride.
The Dallas Police Cycling Team (DPCT) will be implementing the following:
The Dallas Police Cycling Team (DPCT) will be implementing the following:
- Snacks will be in individual bags or handed to you from a volunteer- no more grabbing snacks from the tray.
- Only volunteers will fill the water bottles- no cyclists will touch the coolers and each cyclist will remove their own tops.
- Hand sanitizer will be in all port-a-potties and will have hand sanitizer at the rest stop tables
- We will start each ride group in waves so not everyone is bunched up at the start line. The 100-mile riders will line up first and take off. We will wait a few minutes and then let the 68-mile group go, followed by the 50-mile group.
- ***As of 8/3/2020, there are 331 riders signed up. If this number continues to grow, and gets close to 1,000, we will consider not having a "mass start". Each rider can take off whenever they are ready to ride. This will alleviate having everyone bunched up at the starting line.***
- We will not have any after ride activities going on this year. We will definitely have after ride refreshments at next year's event.
